Will Smith Announces Possibility Of Bad Boys 3 and Tour With DJ Jazzy Jeff On Beats 1 Radio

Will Smith is one of the most visible entertainers in the world, to the point where his kids are afforded the opportunity to turn their adolescent drifting into worldwide trends. But in an interview with the BBC’s Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, Smith revealed that it’s his son, Jaden, who updated his writing practices. Smith, who first broke through as a rapper before shifting his primary focus to the small screen, had still been using a pen and paper to jot his lyrics, until Jaden moved him over to the iPhone for the “Fiesta” remix, the elder Smith’s first rap verse to be released in a decade. (No, not that “Fiesta” remix.)

But the big reveal was that Will and his one-time partner, DJ Jazzy Jeff, will be hitting the road as part of a world tour. Curiously, it will be their first time on tour together. The pair, originally billed as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, won the first Grammy for rap music, when “Parents Just Don’t Understand” took home the Best Rap Performance trophy at the 1989 edition of the awards. Their commercial peak would be 1991′s “Summertime,” which also earned them a statuette. The duo never technically broke up–music simply took a back seat for Will, who followed one of our most beloved sitcoms (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) with a run as one of the box office’s most beloved big-screen stars. Details of the tour are still to come.

Got the drop on Beats 1 Radio . . .
