Freddie Roach Says Floyd Was Beat Up In His Training Camp

While Roach isn’t going to get hung up on what others report, he indicates a close contact recently confirmed Floyd has struggled to deal with the intensity of sparring sessions, but not necessarily against Judah. Roach’s comments were posted by Carlos Boogs of Boxing Scene:

He knocked out a couple of girls (in sparring) or something like (that). The thing is, I got a report from one of my friends in Mexico—that one of his Mexican boys beat the s–t out of him two days in a row. So I really don’t care about stuff like that. I really don’t care what he’s up to, because I have to get my guy ready for my fight and that’s what I’m thinking about.

Marc Gasol Does Not Rule Out Knicks

NEW YORK — Marc Gasol said on Monday morning that he hasn’t ruled out the New York Knicksas a potential free-agent destination because he hasn’t seriously considered his options yet.

“I haven’t ruled anything out because I haven’t thought about anything so it would be [premature],” Gasol told a small group of reporters after the Grizzlies’ morning practice at Madison Square Garden. “The reports and stuff like that, I don’t know where they come from because in my mind I haven’t thought about it. I have no [idea] how they can go there. I don’t know. … We’re in the final stretch of the regular season and we want to get in a good feeling for the playoffs so, trust me, I’m not worrying or thinking about those things yet.”

Rick Pitino Believes High Schoolers Should Have The Right To Go To The NBA

“I’m very much in favor of high school kids going pro,” said Pitino, who will lead Louisville against Northern Iowa in a round-of-32 NCAA tournament matchup Sunday, during his pregame comments Saturday. “I had six young men commit to me out of high school that didn’t go to college, that went to the pros. I’m very much for that because they didn’t want college. They wanted to go to the NBA. And if they go to the [NBA Development League], that’s fine with them. But the six-, seven-month education, online classes second semester. I don’t know what that does for a young person.”
