Rick Pitino Believes High Schoolers Should Have The Right To Go To The NBA

“I’m very much in favor of high school kids going pro,” said Pitino, who will lead Louisville against Northern Iowa in a round-of-32 NCAA tournament matchup Sunday, during his pregame comments Saturday. “I had six young men commit to me out of high school that didn’t go to college, that went to the pros. I’m very much for that because they didn’t want college. They wanted to go to the NBA. And if they go to the [NBA Development League], that’s fine with them. But the six-, seven-month education, online classes second semester. I don’t know what that does for a young person.”

Lil Twist Facing 25 Years For An Assault Case

Justin Bieber’s old running buddy Lil Twist is staring at several felonies and a warrant for his arrest. The Young Money rapper is being charged for the November attack against former That’s So Raven star Kyle Massey and his brother Chris, according to TMZ. As the story goes, Twist and friends were hanging out in Kyle’s apartment in November before the group was kicked out. Reportedly, Twist and four others left but later came back and beat Chris Massey with brass knuckles then pantsed him, stole his wallet and cell phone.

Karmaloop Is Going Bankrupt

After 15 years in business, Karmaloop is reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy.

The online retailer, known for its wide selection of affordable streetwear, is struggling to avoid Chapter 11 filing, sources tell the NY Post. Insiders say CEO and founder Greg Selkoe is currently talking to investors to pay off a part of the Karmaloop’s secured debt while adding $10 million in working capital to the company. But if nothing comes out of those discussions, then investors, including the New York VC fund Insight Venture Partners, will be liable for up to $100 million in writedowns on debt and equity.

Netflix Nabs Rights To Chris Tucker’s Stand Up Special!

Actor and comedian Chris Tucker will headline his first full-length stand-up comedy special, “Chris Tucker Live,” available exclusively this summer on Netflix.

Tucker’s stand-up comedy perf will be available to stream in all territories where Netflix is available, on Friday, July 10. The special showcases Tucker’s comedic chops, as he shares experiences spanning from his childhood to big-time Hollywood. The special was filmed at the historic Fox Theatre in Tucker’s hometown of Atlanta.

“Chris Tucker is a true global movie star and a one-of-a-kind talent whose remarkable energy, delivery and original style make him one of the funniest comedians of our time,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer. “We cannot wait to share his distinct and hilarious voice with our members across the globe.”
