Maison Martin Margiela Documentary To Premier At Tribeca

How do you make a documentary about someone who’s taken pains to remain out of the spotlight? Alison Chernick set out to do just that. Known for her documentaries on Jeff Koons, Matthew Barney, and Roy Lichtenstein, the filmmaker had never addressed the world of fashion in her work. But for her new short documentary, The Artist Is Absent — premiering tomorrow at the Tribeca Film Festival — she took on easily the most elusive subject in fashion:Martin Margiela. The film will also premiere on Yoox, the Corner, and Shoescribe on April 27. Sources told ESPN.com that, based on current projections, league officials expect the salary cap to increase from its current $63.1 million figure to $67.1 million next season, $89 million in 2016-17, and $108 million in 2017-18. The jumps represent massive increases largely triggered by the influx of television money that will begin pouring in after the 2015-16 season when the NBA’s new nine-year, $24 billion TV deal kicks in.
To put it into perspective, the largest salary-cap jump in history is $7 million in one season.

Anthony Davis Dislocated His Finger

As far as I can tell, the broadcast didn’t show or even take notice of Davis’s injury—though one reporter in the building tweeted that he was getting his fingers taped up. But reader Eric, who had darn good seats right behind the bench, says he saw Davis tell the Pelicans trainer to pop the finger back into place. Eric sent along this sequence of photos, apparently showing the trainer doing just that:
