After several months of online speculation and rumor, it looks like a Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James has officially gotten the green light. An exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter has Justin Lin — who helmed Fast & Furious 6 and the upcoming Star Trek Beyond — directing the film, and also co-writing with Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello. Production is in the early stages, so it looks like we’ll have to wait a while to see if King James can top the 1996 original, in which Michael Jordan teamed up with various Looney Tunes characters to take on the Monstars. Stay tuned for updates.
