Young Thug’s “Slime Season 3” Streams 18 Million Times During First Week

Lots of people were listening to Young Thug’s new project. The Atlanta rapper’s Slime Season 3 racked up over 18 million streams in its first week on the charts.
Young Thug’s project debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard charts, boosted by 18.9 streams. Slime Season 3 sold 38,349 album equivalent units in the RIAA’s new system. Thug’s latest work earned 22,124 in pure album sales, the old way by which things were measured.
Slime Season 3 is Young Thug’s second project to chart this year after his February release I’m Up debuted at No. 22 on the charts.
Elsewhere on the week’s charts ending in March 31, hip-hop still had a strong presence despite a major drop for Kendrick Lamar. The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper’s untitled unmastered. experienced a 28% drop in its fourth week on the Billboard charts as it fell out of the top 10. The project was down to No. 34 as it sold 14,856 album equivalent units with 7.6 million streams.
Kevin Gates’ album Islah continues to be a strong performer though as it landed at No. 11 for the week. The Baton Rouge rapper’s LP sold 27,626 album equivalent units with over 17 million streams. Islah, which has been billed as Gates’ debut album, has been a surprise hit on the chart as it debuted at No. 2.
G-Eazy’s When It’s Dark Out also remained in the top 15 with just over 25,000 album equivalent units and close to 18 million streams. Fetty Wap, Future and Flo Rida were among the other names in the top 25 for this past week’s chart.
