“Adidas gave me a million and that don’t bounce / The president of G.O.O.D. Music has been announced / A quarter million a year and that don’t bounce” – King Push
Athletes’ sneaker deals usually are open to the public and widely discussed in the sneaker community – for example James Harden’s multimillion dollar deal with adidas that happened earlier this year. From a monetary standpoint, what rappers and other designers make isn’t publicized as much when they begin collaborating with brands.
When Pharrell and Pusha T joined forces with adidas the amount of money included in their contract wasn’t as hyped as other newly acquired brand members. Could that possibly be because of the deal amount? Sure, but one can argue that Pusha’s sneakers still remain to be one of the hottest releases of 2015.
That said, we can imagine the new G.O.O.D. Music President is receiving a nice check from adidas, and in the lyrics of the unreleased track produced by Timbaland, “Untouchable,” King Push reveals that the sneaker brand is definitely paying him a considerable amount. It would be classless of Push to put all of his business out to the public, but the boastful lines in his anticipated song convey exactly what we expected, another dope single, and that he’s staying on top in multiple areas.
