Kanye West To Executive Produce A Soundtrack For New TV Series

Kanye West is diving into a new venture as he is being reported as the executive producer for the new soundtrack for the upcoming WGN America series Underground. According to reports from Deadline and a casting call for the television show posted online, Underground “follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation to cross 600 miles to freedom, aided along the way by a secret abolitionist couple running a station on the Underground Railroad, as they evade those tasked with bringing them back, dead or alive.” The show will featureChristopher Meloni, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge and Jessica De Gouw. The series is on pace for a 2016 premiere.

The Game Announces “The Documentary 2” Release Date

The Game says that The Documentary 2 will be dropping in June. During an interview with Revolt TV at The Documentary’s 10-Year Anniversary Party, the West Coast mainstay said that he’s dropping the follow up to his 2005 album The Documentary on June 30. Game has a special reason for choosing that day on the calendar. June 30 also happens to be the birthday of his eldest son, Harlem.

Watch Waka Flocka Read “50 Shades Of Grey”

After 100 million copies sold worldwide and an undying global fascination since its 2011 release, Fifty Shades Of Grey, the movie, hit theaters this past weekend. The box office numbers, as expected, were phenomenal, leading the erotic tale to nab the biggest February opening in history, succeeding Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ. The erotic drama brought in $85 million in just one weekend, beating out the $81.7 million estimate.

Believe it or not, the love story has even made its way into hip-hop. The popularity of the novel along with a cameo from Roc Nation signee, Rita Ora in the film and a Beyonce heavy soundtrack has lately but surely led the hip-hop community to jump on the bandwagon.
