“We want to thank the Brooklyn community and the entire fan base for your unwavering support,” Yormark wrote. “You are instrumental in the team’s success and have helped us advance to the playoffs each year we’ve been in the borough.
“Brooklyn is the only place to catch playoff basketball in New York, and we are excited to see you at Barclays Center.”
Greg Monroe said he hasn’t “discussed anything with anybody” when it comes to where he will be playing next season – a direct contradiction of a N.Y. Daily News report saying Monroe to the New York Knicks “is about as close to a done deal as you can get.”
The Detroit Pistons big man was asked to respond to the report before today’s Palace finale against the Charlotte Hornets.
Monroe, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, is growing weary of being the subject of the NBA’s rumor mill.
NEW YORK — Marc Gasol said on Monday morning that he hasn’t ruled out the New York Knicksas a potential free-agent destination because he hasn’t seriously considered his options yet.
“I haven’t ruled anything out because I haven’t thought about anything so it would be [premature],” Gasol told a small group of reporters after the Grizzlies’ morning practice at Madison Square Garden. “The reports and stuff like that, I don’t know where they come from because in my mind I haven’t thought about it. I have no [idea] how they can go there. I don’t know. … We’re in the final stretch of the regular season and we want to get in a good feeling for the playoffs so, trust me, I’m not worrying or thinking about those things yet.”
