Michael Jordan has been added to the Forbes list of billionaires.
He’s now the 513th-richest person in the United States with a net worth of an even $1.0 billion.
The skyrocketing values of NBA franchises is the main reason Jordan broke the $1 billion mark.
Jordan’s No. 23 jersey is believed to have been stolen on the day of the game. The Bulls did not bring a backup No. 23 jersey with them, but the team did have a just-in-case No. 12 kit bearing no name on the back. Sam Smith, who covered the game for the Chicago Tribune and now writes for Bulls.com, remembered a search in the crowd for a No. 23 jersey that would fit Jordan’s 6’6’’ frame.
According to Michael Lee of The Washington Post, Bryant had plans of joining the Washington Wizards when he became a free agent in 2004.
“That’s true,” Bryant told Lee. “A long time ago? Yeah.”
