Video: A Young Kanye West rapping to his Mother

Throughout his career Kanye has shown his admiration and love for his mom in many ways. He named his creative agency after her; closed his 2008 album 808s and Heartbreaks with a deeply profound statement addressed to her (“Goodbye my friend, I will never love again” Kanye said on “Coldest Winter”); described his recent single “Only One,” as his mother singing to daughter North West through him; and, of course, “Hey Mama.”

Now, video of Kanye and his mom rapping together in a kitchen has surfaced, and it’s sure to leave you in tears. Taken from an MTV special detailing the making of Late Registration, the clip features the two talking about a rap Kanye came up with, followed by the two singing “Hey Mama” together. It’s simultaneously beautiful and sad: another glimpse into a relationship that still means so much to Kanye.

The Book Of Yeezus For Sale Now

So and So,
Each generation champions a superstar, so consistently relevant that they come to accompany that generation through its evolution, being a part of and ultimately shaping its identity. We are here to spread a doctrine. Well, a pseudo-doctrine. We ask you to use your pulpit for Good.

Kanye West’s Leftovers Are Going For $20,000

While some U.K. citizens are scrambling to have the rapper booted from the Glastonbury festival, others are lining up to hand over their hard-earned dollars for some of the rapper’s leftovers, reports Refinery 29.

User cocoacushi is selling food scraps allegedly left behind by West during his February visit to a London Nando’s.

West, 37, stopped by the fast-food chicken restaurant to surprise fans and jump on tables before the Brit Awards on Feb. 25. After the rapper departed, this enterprising fan reportedly scooped up Kanye’s leftovers and later decided to turn them into cash.

Outraged Petitioners Demand Kanye West’s Removal From Festival

Remember back in 2008 when British music fans (including the perpetually grouchy Noel Gallagher) got their knickers in a bunch because Jay Z was headlining Glastonbury? There was an outcry over Jay being the first rapper to headline Glastonbury, apparently because he wasn’t “rock” enough to handle the top slot on the bill.

Well, it’s 2008 all over again. Glastonbury booked Kanye West to headline the festival’s Saturday lineup, and fans are already demanding that Yeezus be dumped from the lineup.

According to a Change.org petition signed by more than 21,000 people (as of Tuesday afternoon), it’s because “Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world” and not “deserving.”

Why isn’t Kanye good enough for Glastonbury? The reason, of course, is rock elitism. “Cancel Kanye West’s slot and get a rock band,” the petition demands, adding, “We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment.” For the record, Foo Fighters are headlining Friday night’s Glastonbury lineup.
