Dr. Dre Working On “Straight Outta Compton” Soundtrack (Which May Not Be Released)

Great news! Dr. Dre is working on a new album. Even more exciting, the album is inspired by the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, which means its inspired by the work he did on the immortal album of the same name.

But wait, there’s gotta be a catch, right? After all, Dre’s been sitting on the rabidly-anticipated Detox for an eternity. Well, you’re right. There is a catch. A big one: He might not release this album.

ASAP Mob Is Being Sued Over Crowd Surfing Incident

A$AP Mob hurled themselves into a packed crowd in Hollywood and allowed concertgoers to do the same … and a woman claims they left her in a world of hurt.

The group is being sued by a woman who attended their concert at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood back in 2013. Tammy Nguyen claims she was a VIP at the show when A$AP Mob took the stage at around 11PM. There was lots of crowd surfing during the evening, but it really intensified.

She says A$AP members, including Darold Ferguson, Jr. — better known as A$AP Ferg — were diving in the crowd, along with a bunch of fans. When Ferguson jumped, Nguyen says he nailed her.   And what’s worse, she says she had to fight her way through the crowd to get out, and security didn’t help.

She’s suing the group and Ferguson.

Tupac Will Have New Music In The Streets Soon

If you happened to catch goosebumps while hearing the voice of Tupac Shakur on Kendrick Lamar’s “Mortal Man,” as well as in Powerade’s latest commercial, where he is heard reciting lines from “Mama’s Just A Little Girl,” just know that there’s more where that came from.  Because as Jeff Jampol, owner of JAM Inc., tells Billboard, this is the beginning of a “total reset of the Shakur estate.”

In early 2013, Shakur’s mother, Afeni, brought in JAM, Inc. to oversee her son’s collection, including everything from “unreleased music, released music, remixes, original demos, writings, scripts, plans, video treatments [and] poems.” Joining forces with Tom Whalley, who signed Pac to Interscope in 1991 and currently sits as the head of Loma Vista Records, the company plans to mirror what its been able to do with the management of estates from Michael Jackson, the Doors, Janis Joplin and Otis Redding— specifically working on the licensing, apparel, and other media ventures.
