WWE Lawsuit With One Of It’s Former Premier Stars Is Heating Up!

If you thought that CM Punk’s WWE past was behind him, you’d be sadly mistaken. If you remember back when Punk walked out on the WWE and concurrently broke his silence on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast, the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era said some pretty damning stuff about WWE’s Senior Ringside Physician, Dr. Chris Amann.

To make a long story short, Punk cited Amann’s gross negligence on the job in which the wrestler said he was misdiagnosed so many times that iy nearly cost him his long-term health. Punk’s legal team released a statement yesterday that pulled no punches of any sort, especially with his allegations that it is the WWE that is really behind Amann’s lawsuit.

The statement reads: “Brooks (Punk) is informed and believes that the Plaintiff collaborated, coordinated and conspired with the WWE in bad faith to prepare, bring and pursue this lawsuit in retaliation against Brooks and Colton for the embarrassment that the Podcast caused the WWE through and as a result of Brooks’ candid and truthful discussion of various of his experiences as a WWE wrestler, despite the fact that the Plaintiff knows full well that the statements about which he complains are true and/or substantially true.”

The WWE has responded today, in kind, categorically denying any involvement in the current legal battle.

“Phil Brooks’ latest claim that WWE directed Dr. Amann to file a lawsuit against Brooks is categorically false,” the statement said. “Dr. Amann made the decision to file suit in order to protect his professional reputation. WWE conducted its own investigation into this matter and found no evidence of wrongdoing by Dr. Amann, and thus continues to support Dr. Amann and the staff that runs our world-class medical program.”

This thing is far from over, and it looks like neither side is going to come to an agreement any time soon.
