18 Students Threaten Suicide if Obama Doesn’t Visit Their University

While everyone will want to be visited by Obama, a section of Nairobi University students have threatened to do the unthinkable should he fail to visit their institution.

In a letter to the US ambassador in Kenya, the University’s student organisation said that 18 students have vowed to commit suicide should Obama fail to visit the institution when he lands in town.

“Please note that Obama visited UON while the senator of Illinois and planted a tree outside Taifa Hall after delivering a rousing speech in 2006,”reads the letter signed by Babu Owino, Chairman of Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU)

Obama is expected in Kenya to grace the Global Entrepreneurship Summit that will take place on the 24-25 July, 2015.

But SONU is angered by the fact that a visit to University of Nairobi has not so far been confirmed.

They want a confirmation from US ambassador to Kenya that Obama will be visiting the country’s oldest University.

“31 Female students have threatened to urinate on the tree Obama planted should he fail to visit the University…male students could do worse,” goes on the letter.
