When free agency begins on Tuesday at 11:01 p.m. CT, the New Orleans Pelicans are expected to make a push to re-sign most of their own free agents.

”We like our team, we like the players on our roster and we look forward to competing with these guys,” Pelicans general manager Dell Demps said last week. ”If an opportunity presented itself to improve the team, we’ll look at it. We think we are going in the right direction.”

Other than making an assertive to push to sign star power forward Anthony Davis to a five-year extension that exceeds $143 million starting on July 1, the Pelicans next order of business is making a push to re-sign starting center Omer Asik.
