
With the announcement that Lester Holt will formally replace Brian Williams as the anchor of “NBC Nightly News,” we thought it was time to clue you in on Holt’s background — and his diverse career. Who knew the California-born Holt parlayed his newscaster skills into bit parts in the movies? Read on for other things you might not have known about the news anchor. He has appeared as himself in films as diverse as “Primal Fear” (1996) and a remake of “Miracle on 34th Street” (1994), but his most famous cameo came in the hit remake of “The Fugitive,” which starred Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Look for Holt, whose name appears in the end credits as “Newscaster,” in the crowd in this clip from the end of the movie, where the real killer, played by Jeroen Krabbé, is caught.
